Interview with Bella Andre, author of the Sullivan Family series
Tell us about the Sullivan Family series What kind of readers will it appeal to? If someone out there hasn’t yet read a Bella Andre novel, which book or series would you advise them to start with and why? We read in Time Magazine recently that you frequently work 70 hour weeks. Surely that’s an exaggeration? Is that what it takes to attain your level of success? How do you fill all that time? Can you put your success in numbers for us? Either in terms of sales, bestseller lists or whatever metric you prefer.
I’ve sold more than 1.4 million ebooks, my last four books have all debuted on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists, my latest went to #1 in Australia, #2 in the US and the first two books in my Sullivan series have already hit the Brazilian bestseller lists translated into Portuguese.
You recently announced that you have sold the Sullivan series to Harlequin. Why did you make that decision? Have you turned your back on being an indie author?
I am thrilled to be working with Harlequin on the English language print side of my Sullivan series. They have amazing plans to launch the series globally with simultaneous paperback releases of all eight books between June 2013 and April 2014 in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. So many people still love reading paperbacks and I know we’re going to reach a huge new market with the Sullivans. Of course, because I retained my digital, translation and audio rights to the series, I will still be releasing my Sullivan books as ebooks, audio books and translations.
Tell us a bit more about yourself.
I’m married to a fabulous man and have two children. We split our time between Northern California and the Adironrack mountains of New York. I love to hike, swim and read!
Have you got a website where readers can keep up with your work? Do you use social media?
Where can we buy your books?
My books are available at Amazon (US, UK), Barnes and Noble, Google Play, Kobo, iBookstore, Smashwords and other major ebook retailers.
What’s next?
The next Sullivan book, of course! ALWAYS ON MY MIND (Lori Sullivan’s story) will be out Spring 2013. And then a super-secret new series that I hope to start writing next year….
